IMPACT: RBHA serves nearly 13,000 individuals – children and adults – every year. Approximately 30% of those we serve have no Medicaid, insurance, or means to pay for services. We do not turn people away based on their inability to pay.
Pregnant and parenting women receive priority admission to treatment services at RBHA – both outpatient and residential services – through RBHA’s Women’s Services. Mothers dealing with substance use and mental health issues require multiple supports as they move through their treatment and recovery journey. The Baby Care Kits provide needed supplies for these new mothers until appropriate benefits can be secured through the Department of Social Services (DSS) and other partnering agencies.
RBHA’s Early Intervention Services provides developmental supports and therapies for infants and toddlers who are not experiencing typical developmental milestones. This can be a very stressful time for families. The Baby Care Kits offer an additional support and needed supplies for the babies and mothers receiving EI services.
The Baby Care Kits will be distributed to women receiving services through our Women’s Residential Treatment Center (WRTC), Outpatient Women’s Services, and Early Intervention Services.
Richmond Behavioral Health fearlessly champions the health, wellness, and recovery for the individuals and communities we serve. We envision an inclusive, healthy community where individuals are inspired to reach their highest potential.

Talking through the purpose of the project as you complete it is a great way for all involved to gain a connection to those being served through your generosity. Here are some questions to help guide conversation:
- How will this project help someone in need?
- What do we know about the importance of building a community made to help each other?
- Did our feelings about the recipients of this project change as we completed the project?
- What worked well about this project?
- What else can we do now?Are there other ways we can help?
